SLP services comprise of professionals concerned with evaluation, treatment, and research in communication disorders. Currently, SLDC has multiple Speech-Language Pathologists on staff as well as Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants. They treat speech and language disorders and work with individuals of all ages. Our team evaluates speech problems, such as fluency (stuttering), articulation, voice disorders as well as language problems, such as aphasia and delayed language and related disorders. Our team is focused on finding the right communication tool for each child, including the use of picture symbols, sign language, and communication devices.

Our OT Department utilizes various treatment practices to assist students with physical, developmental, mental, or emotional disabilities. These treatments aid in the improvement of skills that help them perform tasks that are vital to their day-to-day lives. Currently there are trained occupational therapists on staff and also certified occupational therapy assistants. The occupational therapists at SLDC promote independence in the areas of sensory processing, self-regulation, fine and visual motor coordination.
