Your Giving Tuesday gift will empower students with vocational curriculum, on-campus jobs, transportation, and more, helping them build independence and readiness for jobs and life. With every dollar tripled, your impact is life-changing.
This June, we learned that the California Department of Education will no longer fund the Workability program for Nonpublic Schools starting in the 2024-25 academic year. For years, this program supported critical resources for vocational training, independence skill-building, and meaningful work experiences—programs that empower our students to transition successfully into adulthood.
Despite these challenges, our teachers have risen to the occasion, continuing to provide opportunities for on-campus jobs, vocational curriculum, and small-group outings to nearby locations like the grocery store and organization site visits. But now, we need your support to ensure our students continue to thrive.
This Giving Tuesday, your gift will go even further thanks to a generous DOUBLE match from one of our closest friends. That means every dollar you give, up to the first $10,000 in gifts, will be tripled—your $100 gift becomes $300 of direct support for transportation, job supplies, and innovative classroom activities.
Here are just a few of the funding needs shared by our teachers:
Our goal is to raise $25,000 in just 24 hours to ensure every student has access to the tools they need for independence and career readiness.
Please join us this Giving Tuesday and help make a life-changing impact. Together, we can empower our students to reach their fullest potential.
Thank you for your generosity on this global day of giving. You make so much possible!
"I think SLDC had introduced the whole concept of dreaming to Jack actually. I think prior to SLDC there was so much frustration, such a weight on his shoulders. I think looking beyond the next 5 minutes was almost impossible. But now he’s able to go beyond that. He sees himself in the future. Whether you achieve your goal is one thing, but to have a goal, is just tremendous."
