Make the future of SLDC part of your Legacy!
Incorporating SLDC into your estate, will, living trust, retirement plan or life insurance is a simple but powerful way to support the school you love for generations to come.
Planned and estate giving can be an easy, highly effective way to support SLDC. Often, all it takes is a simple form or phone call to set up a donation that will help provide for SLDC’s future. Gifts of any size make a big difference — and can benefit you, too!
Here are just a few of the many ways you can support SLDC through non-cash gifts. We look forward to helping you make a plan that fits your goals and are here to answer any questions you might have.
Bequest from Your Will
Including SLDC in your will or trust is a meaningful way to help us continue to serve our students. Many of our programs and services have benefitted from individuals who had the foresight to include the SLDC in their estate plans.
Ways You Can Give Through a Will or Trust:
- Leave a specific dollar amount or asset to SLDC.
- Designate a percentage of your estate to be given through your will or living trust.
- Give only the remainder, or residue, of your estate, or that which remains after bequests to loved ones have been made.
The following is an example of suggested language to include in your will/trust:
“I give and bequeath to Speech and Language Development Center, a not-for-profit corporation, with principal offices presently located at 8699 Holder St, Buena Park, CA 90620, the sum of , or _______% of my estate, to be used for the accomplishment of its general purpose (or for a specific purpose as indicated)”.
Retirement Assets
Retirement assets are one of the most beneficial gifts you can give to SLDC. These funds grow tax-free until the time of withdrawal. With the innovative use of these assets, you are able to contribute generously to SLDC as well as provide for your loved ones. Many taxes on these plans can be avoided or reduced through a carefully planned charitable gift.
Life Insurance
Life insurance is often overlooked as an asset that you can use to make gifts to SLDC. There are a number of ways to support SLDC’s many programs with an insurance-related gift.
