SLDC ADULT PROGRAM
The SLDC Adult Program is a community-based day program serving adults with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities who are between 22-40 years of age.
The program operates Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
The instructional staff to participant ratio is 1:3, which allows for all participants to develop their own unique abilities at their own pace.
The program spends time at Speech and Language Development Center’s main Buena Park campus, then integrates into the surrounding neighborhood and businesses for meaningful community engagement and instruction.
The program’s core concepts focus on the development and enrichment of:
- Independent living skills
- Community access
- Social skills
- Personal health
- Vocational skills training
- Money management
Independence with personal self-care is required. This program may not meet the needs of participants with uncontrolled medical conditions and/or behaviors requiring 1:1 supervision, but all cases will be reviewed for consideration.
