We’re holding our annual Jog-a-thon on Thursday, March 17, 2022, to raise funds for our Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy Sensory Gym. If each jogger can raise just $100, we will reach our goal of $15,000.
How It Works
- Students can walk or run the big loop on the blacktop- classrooms will be spread out in sessions to keep it from getting too crowded.
- Our Adapted P.E Teachers will work with students to get them moving and pace themselves.
- Prior to the day of the event, family and friends will be invited to become donors, who agree to support students at one of the levels shown here to encourage them to meet their walking/running goal.
- Students and their families in all classes will be invited and encouraged to participate.
Day of the Event
- Families should sign up in advance here.
- Students will start with their class at their designated area on March 17th. Together, we will walk or run the loop, ending back at the starting point where we will have some light snacks and refreshments.
- Classrooms will each pick a theme for their students and staff to dress up!
How to Register
Please register your jogger on their classroom team- you can then fundraise online or checks can be made out to SLDC and sent into school with the student. Please write “Jog-a-Thon” and the sponsored student’s name in the memo section of the check.
How to Donate
Search for the students name on the registration page to make a donation online or checks can be made out to SLDC and mailed to 8699 Holder St, Buena Park, CA 90620. Please write “Jog-a-Thon” and the sponsored student’s name in the memo section of the check. Be sure to let your student know that you pledged so that they can track it.

The Prizes
In this event, everyone wins! But still…
Individual prizes:
- Every student that raises $25.00 will receive a pair of SLDC sunglasses
- Every student that raises $50.00 will receive a SLDC wallet
- Every student that raises $100.00 will receive (1) ticket to enter into a raffle to win a family 4 pack of Knott’s Berry Farm tickets.
- For every additional $75.00 raised they will receive (1) additional ticket to be entered into the Knott’s Berry Farm raffle.
The top 5 students with the highest pledges will enjoy lunch with the Principal
Group Prizes:
- Every classroom that raises $500.00 will receive an Ice Cream Party!
- Every classroom that raises $1,000 will receive a Pizza Party!
Your donations go toward essential materials and supplies needed for our school, and in the end, will go directly to supporting and engaging our wonderful students in joyful learning. Thank you for all you do for the SLDC community!
